2026年4月に創業9周年を迎えた私たちのもとには、今、世界中から素晴らしいお客様が足を運んでくださっています。 先日は、台湾からお越しの若く美しいカップル様をお迎えしました。お二人のために日光の魅力を余すことなく伝えようと奔走されたAya様の温かなお姿に、私は深く感銘を受けました。
今回は、お二人の故郷であり、日本人にとっても親しみ深い「台湾（Taiwan）」の魅力を、文化・歴史・食の視点からたっぷりとご紹介します。

Hello! I am Misa Endo, the manager of “COCON NIKKO” in the World Heritage site of Nikko. Having celebrated our 9th anniversary in April 2026, we are now welcoming wonderful guests from all over the world. Recently, we hosted a beautiful young couple from Taiwan. I was deeply moved by the warm hospitality of Ms. Aya, who attended to them with great care to ensure they experienced the best of Nikko. In this blog, I would like to explore the charms of their homeland, Taiwan.

Known as “Ilha Formosa” (Beautiful Island) since the Age of Discovery, Taiwan is a land of emerald mountains and crystal-clear seas. For us who love the mountain beauty of Nikko, the landscapes of Taiwan’s Jade Mountain (Yushan) and the mystical sea of clouds in Alishan feel strangely familiar and inspiring.
2. “Renqingwei” — The Essence of Taiwanese Hospitality
Anyone who visits Taiwan will tell you how warm the people are. The term “Renqingwei” represents their culture of not being able to leave someone in need alone and treating strangers like family. This resonates with my “Flow Hospitality”—creating a state where guests can lose themselves in the joy of the moment through heartfelt human connection.

Taiwanese cities feature a fascinating coexistence of modern skyscrapers and nostalgic streetscapes like Jiufen and Dadaocheng. This “retro-modern” aesthetic shares a common beauty with the Meiji and Taisho-era architecture found in Nikko, such as Meiji-no-Yakata.
