日光の春を代表するイベント「日光桜回遊（にっこうさくらかいゆう）」が、2026年4月1日より開催されます。
標高差がある日光では、4月上旬から下旬にかけて、場所を変えながら長く桜を楽しめるのが特徴です。
開催概要
• 期間： 2026年4月1日（水）〜4月26日（日）
• 場所： JR・東武日光駅周辺 〜 日光東照宮周辺（相生町・鉢石町・山内エリアなど）
主な見どころ
1. 歴史を刻む名木巡り
国指定天然記念物の「金剛桜（輪王寺）」や、樹齢約350年の「虚空蔵尊のしだれ桜」など、日光ならではの風格ある桜をご鑑賞いただけます。
2. 門前町のおもてなし
街道沿いの老舗や名店（70店舗以上）が参加。期間限定の「桜メニュー」やスイーツを片手に、散策をお楽しみください。
3. 夜桜ライトアップ
日没から21:00頃まで、市街地の各所でライトアップを実施。また、4月3日（金）からは鬼怒川温泉でも「鬼怒川万華郷」が開催され、幻想的な夜を彩ります。

Nikko Sakura Kaiyu 2026: Spring Cherry Blossom Festival in the World Heritage City
We are pleased to announce the “Nikko Sakura Kaiyu 2026,” a month-long celebration of cherry blossoms starting April 1st.
Because of Nikko’s varying altitudes, visitors can enjoy the blossoms for an extended period throughout the month.
Event Overview
• Period: April 1 (Wed) – April 26 (Sun), 2026
• Location: Area spanning from JR/Tobu Nikko Stations to the Toshogu Shrine area (Aioi-cho, Ishimachi, Sannai, etc.)
Highlights of the Festival
• Historic Cherry Trees: Visit legendary trees such as the “Kongo Sakura” at Rinno-ji Temple (a 500-year-old Natural Monument) and the graceful 350-year-old Weeping Sakura at Kokuzo-son.
• Local Hospitality: More than 70 shops and restaurants along the main street will offer special “Sakura-themed” dishes and sweets available only during this season.
• Illumination Events: Experience the romantic “Night Sakura” as key spots are illuminated until 21:00. Additionally, the “Kinugawa Mankyo” event will take place at Kinugawa Onsen from April 3 to April 12.
