[Story of Our Guests] From Vietnam to Nikko: A Dream One Year in the Making. Hoshi-san’s Love and Six Radiant Kimonos
こんにちは！世界遺産・日光の地で、着物を通じて皆様の心に彩りを添える「COCON NIKKO」店長の遠藤実沙です。
2026年4月に9周年を迎え、私たちは今、さらに深い情熱を持って「おもてなし」の真髄を追求しています。今日ご紹介するのは、丸沼高原リゾート(株)様とのご縁で繋がった、ベトナムからお越しの素敵なお客様たちの物語です。
Hello! I am Misa Endo, the manager of “COCON NIKKO,” located in the World Heritage site of Nikko. Since celebrating our 9th anniversary in April 2026, we have been pursuing the true essence of hospitality with even deeper passion. Today, I am honored to share a story about our wonderful guests from Vietnam, brought to us through our partnership with Marunuma Kogen Resort Co., Ltd.
第一章：1年間、この日のために
Chapter 1: Working Hard for This Very Day
今回お越しいただいたのは、女性4名様、男性2名様の計6名様。皆様、来週にはベトナムへ帰国されるとのことでした。日本での生活を締めくくる「最後の楽しみ」として、そして「最後の着物文化の勉強」として、日光を選んでくださったのです。
お支度の間、お付き添いの「日本のママ」こと星さんが、そっと私にこう仰いました。
「この子たちは、日光で着物を着るのを楽しみにして、この1年間一生懸命頑張ってきたのです。だから、思い切り可愛く、格好良くしてあげてくださいね！」
その愛情いっぱいのお言葉に、私だけでなくスタッフ一同、胸が熱くなりました。1年という長い時間、異国の地で努力を重ねてきた彼らにとって、この着物体験は単なる観光ではなく、自分たちへの「ご褒美」であり、「夢」だったのです。
We welcomed a group of six: four women and two men. They are scheduled to return to Vietnam next week. They chose Nikko as their “final Japanese treat” and their “final study of kimono culture” to conclude their lives in Japan.
During the preparations, Ms. Hoshi, whom they affectionately call their “Japanese Mama,” whispered to me:
“These kids have worked so hard for a year, looking forward to wearing kimonos in Nikko. So please, make them as cute and handsome as possible!”
Her loving words moved me and my entire staff deeply. For these young people who had labored for a year in a foreign land, this experience was not just sightseeing—it was their “reward” and their “dream.”
第二章：誠実な心と、食文化が繋ぐ笑顔
Chapter 2: Sincere Hearts and Smiles Connected by Food
彼らは本当に誠実で、素直で、可愛らしい方々でした。真摯に日本語を学んでこられたことが、その丁寧な言葉遣いからひしひしと伝わってきます。
お支度中やヘアセットの時間は、まるで家族のような団らんでした。
「日本での一番の思い出は何？」
「好きな日本食は何？」
そんな質問に、一生懸命日本語で答えてくれる彼ら。ラーメンや寿司、唐揚げといった日本食の話題から、ベトナムが誇る「フォー」や「バインミー」の美味しさまで、会話の花が咲きました。彼らが日本で過ごした時間の豊かさが、その明るい笑顔から伝わってきて、私たちも感激してしまいました。
They were incredibly sincere, honest, and lovely people. Their dedication to learning Japanese was evident in their polite and careful speech.
The time spent dressing and styling their hair felt like a warm family gathering. We talked about their best memories in Japan and their favorite Japanese foods. From Ramen and Sushi to the deliciousness of Vietnamese Pho and Banh Mi, the conversation blossomed. The richness of the time they spent in Japan shone through their bright smiles, leaving us truly moved.
第三章：華やかな変身と、日光田母沢御用邸への旅
Chapter 3: A Radiant Transformation and a Journey to the Imperial Villa
お支度が仕上がると、そこには見違えるほど華やかな6名の姿がありました。女性たちの色鮮やかな着物姿。そして男性たちの凛々しい着物姿。まさに、日光の歴史的な街並みに新しい風を吹き込むような美しさでした。
彼らが向かったのは、日光田母沢御用邸記念公園。
明治・大正期の伝統的な建築様式が融合したこの場所は、着物文化を「勉強」したいという彼らにとって、最高の舞台です。静寂に包まれた歴史的空間で、彼らはきっと、日本での最後の思い出を深く、静かに心に刻んだことでしょう。
Once the preparations were complete, six radiant figures stood before us. The vibrant kimonos of the women and the dignified attire of the men were truly beautiful, bringing a fresh breeze to the historical streets of Nikko.
They headed to Nikko Tamozawa Imperial Villa Memorial Park. This site, blending architectural styles from the Meiji and Taisho eras, was the perfect stage for them to “study” kimono culture. In that serene, historical space, I am sure they etched their final memories of Japan deeply into their hearts.
第四章：日本とベトナム、響き合う二つの心
Chapter 4: Japan and Vietnam: Two Resonating Hearts
今回のお客様を通じて、私は日本とベトナムの文化的な共通点を改めて感じました。
1. 目上の方への敬意： 星さん（日本のママ）を慕う彼らの姿は、年長者を敬うベトナムの美しい精神を感じさせました。これは日本が大切にしてきた「和」の心と同じです。
2. 勤勉さと誠実さ： 1年間頑張ってきたという彼らの努力は、まさに両国に共通する美徳です。
3. 家族のようなホスピタリティ： 私たちが掲げる「フロー・ホスピタリティ」は、ゲストを家族のように迎えることで心からの没入感（フロー）を生み出します。彼らとの時間は、まさに国境を超えた「家族」のようでした。
Through these guests, I felt the cultural ties between Japan and Vietnam once again:
1. Respect for Elders: Their affection for Ms. Hoshi reflected the beautiful Vietnamese spirit of respecting elders, much like the Japanese heart of “Wa.”
2. Diligence and Sincerity: Their year-long hard work is a virtue shared by both nations.
3. Family-like Hospitality: Our “Flow Hospitality” creates a sense of immersion by welcoming guests as family. Our time together was truly like a family transcending borders.
