On that day, two close sisters stepped through the noren curtains of COCON NIKKO. The younger sister’s gaze was fixed on her older sister, for whom she always felt indebted, and her expression overflowed with deep gratitude and affection. When we spoke with them, she told us that this was a special present from her to her older sister.

Their expressions, clad in these special, unaccustomed outfits, were filled with anticipation and sparkled with joy.

To Kegon Falls: A Breath-taking Spectacle in Yukata

After their dressing was complete, it was time to depart. Their destination was Kegon Falls, one of Japan’s three great waterfalls. The powerful spray of water and the refreshing air that enveloped the surroundings are truly a work of nature, making you forget the summer heat.

The sight of the two sisters in their yukata descending to the basin of the waterfall by elevator was as if they had stepped out of an old picture scroll. Upon arriving at the observation deck at the base of the falls, a breathtaking view unfolded before them. The roaring sound of the water, the mystical sight of mist rising and rainbows forming, harmonized beautifully with the sisters in their yukata, enhancing the overall splendor.

With the waterfall as a backdrop, the younger sister carefully captured each moment, sometimes of her older sister laughing happily, other times of her standing gracefully. The sound of the shutter seemed to convey her deep affection for her sister.

Then, side by side, they looked up at the waterfall, silently immersing themselves in its grandeur. In that moment, the sisters, clad in yukata, blended into Nikko’s magnificent nature, becoming a beautiful, seemingly eternal picture.

When the two sisters returned to the shop, their faces were radiant with the broadest smiles.

From the Nikko-Utsunomiya Road, exit “Nikko Exit” and turn left. Turn right at the “Nikko I.C. Iriguchi Nishi” intersection. Proceed straight for about 80 meters to the Towa-cho intersection, then turn left. Continue straight on National Route 119 for about 450 meters, and you will find us on your left. The journey from “Nikko Exit” takes about 8 minutes.
